MAYBERRY ARCHERS
BOWBULL
FEBRUARY, 2010
Indoor season now is in full swing. Everyone who is attending State or National competitions can usually be found every Wednesday night at the club fine tuning their shooting skills to improve their scores. Those who just want to have a good time shooting with fellow archers are also found – what better way to have a fun night out as well as pick up some great archery tips if needed!
League is going strong. This is one of the first years where we have had more shooters than lanes (shooting only 2 lines)! It is great to see and everyone has a good time.
On March 5, 6 & 7th Mayberry will be hosting the Mid Atlantic Sectionals. Friday night, March 5th is usually reserved for club members and/or those working the shoot the other two days. As in the past it was voted that Mayberry members in good standing who shoot the Mids will do so at a reduced fee of $20 instead of $37. You must have paid your current Mayberry dues, as well as be current in your NFAA/MAA dues (which are billed direct through NFAA various times of the year, depending upon when you joined). If you are not a NFAA/MAA member, we can get you joined up prior to the shoot. Please contact Sandy Rowe to get shoot times and reserve a spot at 410-775-7013 or dansanrowe@yahoo.com
MAYBERRY CLUB DUES ARE DUE NOW!!!! I have heard several comments such as — I don’t use the club enough, I only sight in my hunting bow, or I don’t have time to shoot much. Remember —- you are protecting your right to have a place to shoot/practice archery by remaining a member. We have seen several local gun clubs as well as many Maryland archery clubs “disappear” due to community pressure as well as economic problems. We do not want this sport to become a memory of the “good old days”. Our dues were kept low for many, many years due to outstanding club member support and the ability to fix, repair, replace, etc… at a minimal cost. Unfortunately, we must keep up with the times and bring our dues into alignment. 2010 Dues are:
Adult membership $100.00
Family membership $150.00
Youth Membership $ 10.00 must be joined with a parent
Club Access card $ 5.00
Indoor/Outdoor practice fees of $5 still apply to all using the range. Those using the range must sign the practice log.
March 14 will be the Mayberry Indoor Club Championship shoot. While this shoot is open to all archers, Mayberry members will be eligible to be included on the Club Championship plaque should they be the top Mayberry shooter in their class. Class will be decided by the top 2 scores shot this year for a 300 round. Volunteers are requested for registration as well as kitchen help.
Come on out and shoot!!!!
